Japanese Red Pine No.1
Moyogi Akamatsu (Pinus densiflora) - 赤松
The Japanese Red Pine got named ‘Furu’ - 振る ; which translates to the verb ‘shake, swing, wave’. - This tree was originally designed by Bjorn Bjorholm and flipped 180 degrees to the left to highlight the amazing shari deadwood and twisted trunk with its old flaky bark. It got styled several times to bring in the branch structure closer to the floating trunk. - The tree is about 30 years old.
